Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Upon arrival in Uganda, your guide will greet you at the airport in Kampala. From there, you will embark on a scenic road journey towards Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in southwestern Uganda. The drive takes approximately 8-9 hours, but the stunning landscapes and local villages along the way make for an enriching experience. You will stop for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your journey. Upon reaching Bwindi, you will settle into your accommodation near the forest and enjoy a delicious dinner.

 

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking and Optional Batwa Experience

This is the highlight of your trip – an unforgettable day of gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing by experienced guides. You will then set off into the forest, following the trails in search of the magnificent mountain gorillas. Once you locate a gorilla group, you will have an awe-inspiring opportunity to observe them in their natural habitat. The duration of the trek can vary, depending on the gorilla group’s location, but it can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours. After the tour, you will return to your lodge for a well-deserved rest. In the afternoon, you can participate in an optional Batwa cultural experience. The Batwa are the forest’s indigenous people and have a rich cultural heritage. You can learn about their traditional way of life, enjoy their energetic dances, and listen to captivating stories.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Relaxation and Optional Activities

After breakfast, you will bid farewell to Bwindi and embark on a scenic drive to Lake Bunyonyi, known as the “Place of Little Birds.” The journey will take approximately 4-5 hours, offering breathtaking views of the rolling hills and terraced landscapes. Upon arrival, you will check in to your accommodation, nestled on the shores of the lake. After lunch, you can relax and unwind, taking in the serene atmosphere. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also engage in optional activities such as canoeing on the tranquil lake waters or embarking on an island tour, visiting the various islands scattered across the lake. Enjoy a delicious dinner in the evening while gazing at the starry night sky.

 

Day 4: Transfer to Kampala

On your final day, after a leisurely breakfast, you will bid farewell to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi and begin your journey back to Kampala. The drive takes approximately 6-7 hours, allowing you to enjoy the picturesque scenery one last time. You will make stops along the way for lunch and to stretch your legs. Upon arrival in Kampala, your guide will drop you off at your preferred location, marking the end of an incredible four-day adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Lake Bunyonyi.
