Day 1: Airport pickup and transfer to Kampala

Welcome to Uganda! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will meet one of our experienced tour guides, who will transfer you to the vibrant capital city of Uganda, Kampala. Get ready for an informative briefing session from your guide, who will share insights into the fantastic safari experience that awaits you.

Once you arrive in Kampala, you’ll check into your hotel to relax and unwind after your journey. Enjoy a delicious dinner and settle in for an overnight stay as you prepare to embark on your 2-week adventure safari of Uganda. Get ready to explore the beauty and diversity of this incredible country, with unforgettable experiences that await you at every turn.

Day 2: Kampala city tour and shopping

On the second day of your Uganda adventure, get ready to explore the vibrant capital city of Kampala. Our experienced guide will take you on a city tour to discover some of the most popular tourist spots, including the Uganda Museum, Kasubi Tombs, Kabaka’s Palace, and the Old Kampala Mosque. As you explore the city, you’ll have the opportunity to make stopovers at various malls, supermarkets, or local markets of your interest to do some shopping and perhaps enjoy a delicious local lunch at one of the city’s many restaurants. After a full day of sightseeing and shopping, you’ll return to your hotel for a sumptuous dinner and a well-deserved rest as you prepare for the next day’s exciting adventures. Get ready to discover the best of Uganda, one day at a time.

Day 3: Transfer to Jinja with a stop-over at Ssezibwa waterfalls and Mabira forest

Start your day with a delicious breakfast as you prepare for a beautiful adventure to Jinja, the next biggest city Eastward from Kampala. En route to Jinja, we’ll stop at Ssezibwa, where you can explore the stunning waterfalls and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Our next en-route adventure will take us to Mabira forest, where you’ll have the opportunity to experience the thrill of zip lining. Swing from tree to tree under the lush tree canopies, and soak up the beauty of the forest. After this exhilarating experience, we’ll continue to Jinja, where you’ll check in at your lodge for a delicious dinner and overnight stay. Get ready to rest up as we prepare for another exciting day of adventure in Uganda.

Day 4: White water rafting, bungee jumping, and boat ride

Get ready for an action-packed day filled with adrenaline-fueled adventures! After a sumptuous breakfast and gearing up for the day, we’ll start with a briefing session on white water rafting. This thrilling activity takes about 4 to 5 hours as you navigate through the rapids and experience the feel of the river like never before. After the rafting, we’ll take a short break to enjoy an energising drink before heading to the bungee jumping spot. You’ll be prepared and connected to a long cord before leaping over the Nile for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. After this action-packed day, we’ll return to your lodge for dinner and massage, preparing for the next day’s adventures. Get ready to experience the best of Uganda, one thrill at a time!

Day 5: Transfer to Sipi Waterfalls

Start your day with a delicious breakfast as you prepare for a relaxed drive from Jinja to Kapchorwa through the beautiful town of Mbale. As you drive, you’ll enjoy t stunning views of Uganda’s Eastern region’s rolling hills and landscapes. On arrival at Kapchorwa, you’ll be greeted with warm hospitality and checked into your comfortable accommodation. Take some time to relax and settle in before indulging in a tasty lunch.

After lunch, it’s time to experience one of the most breathtaking hikes in Uganda. The Sipi hike takes you through the ranges of Mt. Elgon, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding valleys, waterfalls, and rugged terrain.

As you hike, you’ll discover the rich cultural heritage of the indigenous Sabiny and Bagishu communities that call this area home. Your site guide will lead you through the trail, highlighting the unique flora and fauna that thrive in this region. As you hike, you’ll stop at the stunning Sipi Falls, a three-tiered waterfall that will take your breath away. The thundering waters cascade down the rocks, creating a mesmerising display of natural beauty.

Take some time to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can even dip in the refreshing pool at the base of the falls. After the hike, return to your lodge for a delicious dinner and a good night’s rest as you prepare for the next exciting day.

Day 6: Hiking and abseiling at Sipi Waterfalls

Begin your day at a leisurely pace and take your time savouring a delicious breakfast. Afterwards, you will embark on an incredible coffee experience that will allow you to learn about Uganda’s coffee industry and its cultural significance. During this interactive activity, you will have the opportunity to engage with local coffee farmers, learn about the coffee-making process from bean to cup, and even sample some of the finest coffee blends in the region.

After a delightful morning exploring the world of coffee, you will return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation time. In the afternoon, you will gear up for your abseiling adventure. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, you will descend the beautiful Sipi Falls, taking in the breathtaking scenery and marvelling at the power of the waterfalls. This adrenaline-pumping activity will leave you with lasting memories and a sense of accomplishment.

After your exhilarating abseiling experience, you will head back to your lodge to unwind and enjoy an evening of relaxation.

Day 7: Drive to Pian Upe game reserve

The Pian Upe game reserve is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and adventurers. It is Uganda’s second largest protected area, following only the Murchison Falls National Park. As you embark on a game drive through the park, you will be delighted to come across some of the most exotic wildlife species in the wild.

Keep your eyes peeled for the majestic ostrich, swift cheetah, graceful elands, towering giraffes, and elusive leopards. You will also have the chance to spot several species of antelopes that call the park home. The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with several semi-arid bird species found here.

You might spot the rare Heuglin’s Bustard, Abyssinian Roller, or the Northern White-crowned Shrike, among others. As you explore the park, you will be awed by the beauty of the landscape and the diversity of the flora and fauna. After a short game drive, you will proceed to Moroto, a town in North Eastern Uganda, and check in at your lodge for a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 8: Karamojong cultural and community visits and transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

On this day, you will embark on a cultural visit to the Karamojong Manyattas and explore their history, stories, and culture. You will also get an excellent opportunity to experience their daily lifestyle. Afterwards, you will set off to Kidepo Valley National Park with a stop-over for lunch in Kotido. Upon reaching the park, you will check in for dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 9: Game drive and community visit

This morning, you will board the safari vehicle with an experienced armed ranger guide for a memorable game drive. Kidepo Valley National Park is among Uganda’s most rewarding national parks, with incredible encounters, including feelings of a pride of lions, leopards, herds of elephants, buffalos, several antelope species, and several bird zebras, giraffes, and many other wildlife species. The drive will continue through the scenic open savannah alongside acacia woods. It will last for at least 3 to 4 hours, during which you will enjoy the mind-blowing scenery of the park.

Then, you will return to your lodge for refreshment, enjoy lunch, and visit the Karamojong community in the afternoon. Here, you will enjoy listening to their narrations and lifestyle stories. There will probably be dancing presentations, which you may have to engage in. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 10: Visit the Ik people and hike their mountains

After breakfast and warming up for the day, you will drive to Mt. Morongole. Then, you will hike, about 7 hours to and from. On top of the mountain, you will find the special Ik people. These were once Uganda’s forgotten people who were discovered specially and are thought to speak a Spanish-like language. This hike is among the most challenging yet unique in Northern Uganda and the Karamoja region. Afterwards, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 11: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and stop over at Aruu Waterfalls

During this morning’s drive to Murchison Falls National Park, you will have a stop-over at Aruu Falls in the Pader district along Kitgum-Gulu Road. These are magnificent waterfalls where waters rush over white rocks and form a large pool in which travellers can have a good swim. You will then drive via Gulu with lunch en route, and finally, in the late evening hours, you will arrive at Murchison Falls National Park. Check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Paraa Safari Lodge (luxury), (mid-range): Pakuba Safari Lodge, Red Chilli Rest Camp for budget accommodation.

Day 12: Game drive and Boat cruise

The morning game drive is an experience that will inspire and rejuvenate your soul. As you explore the park, you will notice the beautiful interplay of colours as the sun rises on the horizon, painting the sky in orange, pink, and gold hues. The tranquillity of the morning is only interrupted by the sounds of the wildlife as they begin their day. The thrill of encountering the Big Five animals in their natural habitat is an experience that is hard to put into words. These majestic creatures’ sheer size and power will leave you in awe. The park is also home to several other fascinating animals, such as hyenas, zebras, and various species of antelopes. The bird life is also diverse, with over 500 species recorded, including the majestic African fish eagle and the rare shoebill stork.

Driving through the park, you will appreciate the landscape’s natural beauty, ranging from open savannah plains to dense forests and swamps. The guide will provide you with fascinating insights into the behaviours and habitats of the animals, adding to the thrill of the experience. After the game drive, you can unwind and enjoy a delicious lunch before embarking on a boat ride. The boat ride along the Victoria Nile is a serene and peaceful experience that will allow you to enjoy the beauty of the river and the animals that inhabit its banks. The boat will take you to the bottom of Murchison Falls, the world’s most powerful waterfalls, where you can marvel at the awe-inspiring sight of the water cascading down from a height of 43 meters.

Lastly, you will have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 13: Sportfishing and Nature walks at Budongo forest

Early this morning, you will be required to pack your fishing gear. If you don’t have any, UWA staff can improvise some for you (a hiring arrangement). Along with your fishing guide, you will ride in a private speed boat along the Victoria Nile or around the delta.

On arrival, you will prepare to start this marvellous adventure. The fishing session takes a couple of hours, and here it is fun and unique because it’s based on a catch-and-release arrangement. The main target is usually the Tilapia fish.

After Sportfishing, you will have your lunch and then take an hour’s drive to Budongo forest (South of Murchison Falls National Park). While there, you will go for an afternoon forest nature walk. Budongo forest is among the few remaining tropics in Uganda and gives you the breathtaking feel of authenticity. It hosts several primates, bird species, and a few animals, and on a lucky day, you will encounter chimpanzees.

Afterwards, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 14: Transfer to Ziwa rhino sanctuary en route to Kampala

As your incredible 2-week adventure safari in Uganda ends, take some time to enjoy your last morning in the country leisurely. After breakfast, pack your bags and prepare yourself for the journey back to Kampala.

As you leave, there will be one last thrilling stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will have the opportunity to track the endangered rhino species in Uganda. This experience will surely complete your list of the big five animals: elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos. After an exciting morning at the sanctuary, you will have lunch en route and continue your drive back to Kampala, arriving in the evening. Once in Kampala, you can drive straight to Entebbe International Airport for your next flight home. Alternatively, check into a hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Conclusion
