30 Days Combined Uganda Rwanda Adventure Safari

The 30 Days Combined Uganda Rwanda Adventure Safari will start from Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport, and will end in Kigali of Rwanda. When opting for something thrilling on the adventure especially when having some good days, then consider a combined Uganda and Rwanda trip. The trip will go from Entebbe to Kampala, Jinja, Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake Bunyonyi, Bwindi Impenetrable, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Then will cross borders to Rwanda to Volcanos National Park, Gesenyi (Lake Kivu, Akagera National Park, Nyungwe and finally Kigali. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Uganda via Entebbe International Airport

Today arrive in your executive flight, reaching Entebbe International Airport, Early Trail Expeditions Uganda representative will be ready to pick you. This representative will be your drive for the rest of the days on your safari. The guide will brief you and transfer you to your booked hotel in Entebbe. Get rested after such long hours spent on the flight.

Day 2: Visit Ngamba Island chimpanzee Sanctuary

Today will take an early boat ride crossing from the main land to Ngamba Island and visit the Chimpanzee sanctuary. The Sanctuary is home to injured, and orphanage chimpanzees which are rescued from the wild and are given care and treatment here. Visitor to Ngamba watch the cadged chimpanzee which sometimes get lost from the bushes around the sanctuary. Visitors also get involved in feeding the chimpanzee with eats which are provided with the management.

Day 3: Kampala City

This second day in Uganda, you will first master the art of excitements within the capital. Kampala capital is greater numbers of tourist spots, but will take a drive to the Uganda Museum, Kasubi tombs and Old Kampala Mosque for an aerial view of Kampala. Then can as well consider taking sometimes shopping some of the things you would need for your trip.

Day 4: Transfer to Jinja with en-route to Sezibwa and Mabira Forest

This morning will drive to Jinja city eastwards from Kampala with a branch over to Sezibwa and explore these amazing waterfalls. The cool and authentic serene of the waterfalls makes the falls a special spot to consider. Then another en-route will be at Mabira forest and spend the rest of the time here, will particularly undertake Zip lining adventure and sail under tree branches. Afterwards will have to drive for the remaining kilometers to Jinja and check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Water rafting and Bungee Jumping and Boat Ride to the source

This morning prepare for a supernatural adventures starting the morning session with white water rafting which is about 30 minutes’ drive along the Nile sailing. Rafting at Jinja on the source of the Nile is a world class rafting with 4 and 5 grades. The rafting takes about 3 to 4 hours and after will have to take a sip of an energizing drink and drive back to the bungee jumping spot. The fall leads you to kiss the Nile down to about 45m, with lunch refreshments will draw to the source of the Nile and take a boat ride to the point where the Nile receives it very first drop before setting for the longest journey of any river. After the full packed day of adventure, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Murchison En-route to Ziwa

This morning board for a drive from Jinja to Murchison Falls National Park. From Jinja to Ziwa it can be for about 5 hours depending on the traffic flow, will en-route to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to track the only wild rhinos in Uganda. The sanctuary is located in Nakasongola about 2 hour’s drive from Kampala. The rhino track can last for about 2 to 3 hours alongside several antelopes, birds, warthogs among other wild animals. Then you will return to the starting point refresh and drive to Kabalega dinner for lunch refreshment. Then will continue to Murchison Falls National Park, take some minutes to visit the top of the falls and see how the rapids force into narrow gorge of 7m forming a fuming and moist thunderous roar and its evening hours, then will visit the top of the falls and drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Murchison Game Drive and Victoria Nile Boat cruise

Following your tailored generosity served breakfast, will take a bright daybreak game drive on the northern section of Murchison Falls National Park. The Murchison game drive is among the adventure rewards of Uganda with a lot of expectations being full filled. On a good day you watch both leopards and lions around the Pakuba tracks, elephants, buffalos and rhinos which were watched previously will mark it a Big-Five game drive. Expect more other animals like towers of giraffes, Jackson hartebeest, Uganda Kobs, Hippos, bushbuck, waterbucks, duikers and many more of the species, many bird species can be encountered up to the animals centers the Delta point. After for about 3 hours of driving through the park, the will have to return and refresh with lunch.

In the afternoon hours will take a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile leading to the bottom of the Murchison Falls. The Murchison Falls are arguably the world’s most powerful waterfalls. Imagine how huge rapid do force into a gorge of 7m wider and pour at 45m down to form a thunderous roar. A drive is amazing with a lot of sights among which include; cliff, varies of vegetation, several animals seen at the bank of the river among others The boat cruise lasts for about three hours and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Sport fishing and Hiking the Top Falls

Well equipped with your fishing tools with a fishing guide will board a small engine boat to the fishing grounds. If you don’t have any, UWA staff can improvise for hire. The with a fishing guide will take a ride in a private speed boat to either along the Victoria Nile or around the delta and hook out Nile perch. The fishing session takes some hours and here it’s fun as it’s catch and realize adventure. The fishing can last for about 3 hours, with the main catch being Tilapia.

Refresh with lunch and drive to the top of the falls to take a hike. The hike goes through the rocky tracks which are accompanied with moist roars of downpours. Here you watch how these rapids of the Victoria Nile force into the narrow gorge to form thunderous roars. Then after will drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Today will transfer to Kibale National Park in western Uganda via Hoima and Fort Portal. This journey covers about four hours, with lunch en-route will visit the Crater Lake. The Crater Lake hike is done just alongside the Amabere caves. It takes about 3 hours. Then will drive direct to Kibale forest for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Chimpanzee Habituation

Alongside your energizing morning day break, packed with all your tracking gears will hurry to Kanyachu starting point for the day track. Chimpanzee habituation is a full day adventure where travelers head into the forest, search and follow the chimpanzees. When the chimpanzees are found, trackers have to spend about 4 hours with the apes. So, well prepared with packed eats, enough drinking water, wearing tracking gears. The chimpanzee habituation adventure is more than just a track but a full day spent with the apes. The habituation process is aimed at making the chimps used to human presence, these are known to be shy mammals which in most cases shy away in case of uncertainties. After the track, will return to the starting point, refresh and make your lunch. Then will rest at your lodge for the rest of the hours. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 11: Bigodi Sanctuary and Bigodi Community Visits

Succeed in this day with a visit to Bigodi sanctuary to track various primates. Kibale National Park is known for hosting the highest number of primate species about 13 primates. This is almost the biggest record in the world for one forest to host about 13 primate species. This makes Kibale forest the world’s primate capital. Among the primates to track in Kibale forest include; black and white colobus, red tailed monkeys, Mangebay, baboons, bush babies, L’Hoest, Vevert monkeys, pattas, pottos among others. The primate track is as well accompanied by several bird species, amazing tree plantations, and several mammals like bushbucks, among others.

En-route to Bigodi community where you will enjoy a special organic local dish for your lunch. The visit to Bigodi village makes you understand how the community is involved in the conservation of the protected areas around them. You can as decide to buy some of the souvenirs made from local materials from the wetland. The return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Take an early morning drive as you transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along your drive will en-route to Mt. Rwenzori in Kasese and take a half Rwenzir hike through one of the simplest trials. The trail will lead you through plantation and communities and will have a real image of the Rwenzori people. Then will lunch en-route will take a drive of about 45 minutes reaching Queen Elizabeth National Park. Chech-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 13: Queen Game Drive and Kazinga Boat Cruise

Today early morning with your packed breakfast will drive to Kasenyi section of Queen Elizabeth National Park for an incredible game drive. The meaning of driving with packed breakfast is to enjoy morning bloody sunrise with a bit, it’s very amazing. One of the rewarding game drive with variety of wildlife species including; elephants, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, buffalos, lions, warthogs among so many species to watch accompanied by several bird species.

In the afternoon hours with lunch en-route will drive to the Mweya peninsular, for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel. The wild boat cruise is an opening of watching more animals. Several animals are seen coming to the channel banks to draw water and the aquatic life seen either socked in water or lousily relaxed at water banks. Then, after will drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight;

Day 14: Drive to Ishasha and Track Tree Climbing Lions

Today will take a drive to Ishasha sector to track the rare tree climbing lions. The lion tracked on a game drive through the golden savannah of Ishasha sector. The lions are in most cases seen lousily relaxed under tree branches. Will take both a morning drive and the afternoon drive where you can have a chance to see a lion successfully climbing. Still will have your overnight at your lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 15: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Today will transfer from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. Take a relaxed drive which can last for about 5 hours. Reaching the Lake will have to rest and its late afternoon hours. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 16: Explore Lake Bunyonyi and Transfer to Bwindi

Today, take an early morning to explore this gorgeous historical Lake Bunyonyi. This lake is the 2nd deepest lake in Africa, and jeweled with a simple and unique landscape view. Reaching at the lake you will take a boat ride to one of the islands. Then will check-in at your lodge and relax under the melodies of many small birds like the name suggests. Then after will have to transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park at Buhoma Rushaga which lasts for about 2 hours of drive.

Day 17: Trek Gorillas transfer to Mgahinga

Today you will enjoy your morning breakfast, and hurry to the Rushaga starting point for trekking briefing. In a group of trekkers accompanied by an armed ranger guide will embark for a search for the gentle giants. This kind of Adventure is limited to the central African jewelry of Virunga Conservation Area and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The trek lasts for about 30 minutes to about 4 hours to find your assigned habituated gorilla family. The trek involves walking through the unmade paths, through moist thick jungle, hikes and slopes through hills and valleys and on finding the gorillas it’s a tiresome moment. But setting your eyes on the species, then you have to find out that all the tiresomeness is forgotten. Finding the gorilla, you will have strictly one hour before them, then will be walking back to the starting point.

You will refresh at this exhausting trek, refresh and take a drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Will reach the park by evening hours and check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 18: Golden Monkey Tracking and Batwa Visit

This day you will hurry to go and track the endangered golden monkeys. The golden monkeys are only endemic to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. The golden monkey tracking starts as early at 8am, so you have to be at the center in Mgahinga by 7:30am for the morning session. The beautiful and nice looking golden monkeys live in communities of over 30 individuals and more. These monkeys are habituated meaning tracker can have that close-up moment. The track in volcanic forests of Mgahinga can last for about 30 minutes to 3 hours and when found the brownish monkeys you have an hour in their presence.

Afterwards will take a visit to the Batwa community and explore the lifestyle of the Batwa people. The Batwa people are also known as the forest pygmies who once co-lived with the gorillas in the same forest. These people narrate their emotionally touching stories, and offer entertainment moments with songs and dances. Can also decide to buy some of their handcraft to support their livelihood.

Day 19: Cross Uganda border to Rwanda and Drive to Volcanos National Park

Today with your morning refreshments will take a drive crossing Uganda’s border to Rwanda via Katuna border and driver to    Musanze. Check-in at your lodge relax and have your dinner and overnight there.

Day 20: Visit Fossey Tombs and Hike Bisoke

This morning take an afternoon visit to visit Dian Fossey Tombs. This is the gorilla conservation center, and all about the ape conservation was initiated here. Reaching the center will have to learn more about gorilla conservation and the role of Dian Fossey on the prevailing future of mountain gorillas.

Afterward will refresh and take an afternoon hike of Bisoke Volcanos trail. It’s this is one of the unique hiking trail in Volcanos National Park. The trail is rewarding with a lot of scenic, birds, rolling landscapes and among others. This long trek can last to about 6 hours to and from, hiking to about 3700ms. It’s a long day and at the end of it you’re exhausted just need to return to your lodge and relax for dinner and overnight.

Day 21: Transfer to Gisenyi

Today will take a relaxed transfer to Gisenyi and have yourself relaxed at Lake Kivu. Take this day a relaxed one, and enjoy the vibe of the white sand beaches. Make it a day to chill out after the other days of wondering across the country. All meals will be at your lodge, and overnight.

Day 22: Spend a day at Lake Kivu

Spend your day relaxed at the sand beaches of Lake Kivu, and meditating on the awesome moments of the trip. Refresh and reorganize yourself after long days of traversing almost the all of Rwanda. Will take a boat ride on Lake Kivu to one of the islands.

Day 23: Transfer to Akagera National Park

This day will take a direct drive from northwestern of Rwanda to Akagera National Park in the eastern region. The drive means driving through Kigali and then will clearly drive to eastern border with Tanzania. The Akagera is the only savannah park where Rwanda get a chance to share on the East African savannah covering. Reaching the park with lunch en-route will take a rest and at night hours will take a night game drive. The night game drive is very rewarding with watching some of the predators actively hunting. The return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 24: Akagera Game Drive and Boat Cruise at Lake Ihema

Waking up in the news realms of savannahs under sun arrays is an awesome moment. You will realized the bright sun arrays heating directly on the golden savannah. Then, you will have to enjoy your served tailored breakfast. You’re now ready to embark for a morning nature walks through the savannah, and swampy landscapes of Kagera along the Akagera River. With lunch en-route will hurry for the afternoon boat cruiser on Lake Ihema watching crocodiles, hippos, several water birds like shoebill stork, kingfisher among others, along the cruise a number of land mammas are seen drawing and relaxing at the Lake Shore. Then will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 25: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Today enjoy the morning breeze filled with direct hit of sunrise arrays. After the morning breakfast, will take a drive from Akagera coming back to Kigali and continue to Nyungwe Forest National Park. With lunch en-route at Kigali the drive can last for about 7 hours. Reaching the park you will check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 26: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bird Watching Walks

Today follow your day program and consider a morning session chimpanzee tracking. The track means going to the forest and start a search for the apes, and it’s never a guarantee, but with testemonies at least the opportunities are much higher to watch the chimpanzees. Chimpanzee tracking at Nyungwe forest leads into the tea leaves contours, thick forests, bamboos, according to the trip kind of chimpanzee group to track. Chimpanzees at Nyungwe are habituated and trackers have a chance for a close-up encounter. The track can last between 30 minutes to about 3 hours searching for apes into the deep of the forest. And finding them, you have a limit of one hour in their presence.

Following the track, you need to rest, and refresh, and after refreshing will take an afternoon nature walk for bird watching through tea plantation watching several primate species, and bird species. Then afterwards will drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 27: Canopy Walks and Colobus Monkey Tracking

Consider this day to take this confidential and world class amazing canopy walk. The Nyungwe Canopy Walk is a world class through the stunning suspensions. The Canopy walk leads over tallest forest overlooking the canopies which is an amazing encounter. After the lunch refreshments then will take an afternoon colobus monkey tracking which is an amazing adventure of Nyungwe. The colobus monkey tracking session is accompanied with several monkeys watched. The forest is thought to host about 13 primate species which makes it ideal to track primates.

Day 29: Transfer back to Kigali

Today will get relaxed at your lodge amidst your served breakfast, it’s a long journey to exploring since day one from Kampala Uganda. Then will simply drive back to Kigali which is about 4 hours drive, then reaching the Kigali Capital, take lunch and take a drive to the local markets interact with locals. Then drive and check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 30: Kigali City Tours and Fly Back Home

Today will take the Kigali city tour visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial museum which narrates the in-depth about the 1994 Rwanda massacre. And will reach to the local Kimironko market interact with the locals, buy some of the organic fruits sold in the market. You do your city tour alongside your lunch en-route. Suppose you booked an evening flight will drive to Kigali International Airport for your flight back home.
